Remote work at Intermountain Health

As of July 2021, Intermountain Health formally adopted a remote work model for caregivers who are able to fulfill their roles from home. Flexwork is Intermountain Healthcare’s internal hybrid telework model that allows our caregivers the choice and flexibility to work their way—as it fits business need—whether that’s in-office, at home, or a combination of both. About 70% of Intermountain Health's caregivers employed in remote work eligible positions have chosen to adopt this telework model.

Student Spotlight: Maggie Ellett

I took the Certified Remote Work Professional course because I was making a career change and saw it as a way to expand my knowledge and refine my skills pertaining to remote work. Although I’ve worked remotely before, I hoped to gain access to valuable resources and opportunities. That’s exactly what happened! I feel better prepared to build a career that I both enjoy and find challenging because of the Certified Remote Work Professional course. It was so helpful to learn from the coordinators and my fellow students. Everyone should take this course. I highly recommend!

The 5-day office week might be dead

Recent survey results reveal:

  • People are working nearly 1/3 of days remotely.
  • Flexibility is worth as much to people as an 8% raise.
  • What we value most is skipping the commute.
  • We dislike schlepping more than working.
  • Hybrid is the present as well as the future.

Beware of impersonation scams & stay vigilant this holiday season

As we approach the busy season, it’s important to be aware of an increase in impersonation scams. These scams involve someone pretending to be a trusted source to get your sensitive information, like social security numbers or bank details.

Scam alert: Email attachment scams

Watch out for emails with pdf attachments claiming issues with your account, prompting you to click a fraudulent link for an ‘update.’ These links are traps to steal personal information, including payment details or login credentials.

Remember:

  1. Use Official Channels: When seeking customer service or support, always use the official app or website of the company in question.
  2. Beware of False Urgency: Scammers create urgency to rush you into action. Take your time and think before you act.
  3. Never Share Payment Info Over the Phone: Legitimate companies won’t ask for payment details or bank information over the phone for products or services.
  4. Check Links Carefully: Look for misspellings or odd characters in links. Visit the company’s official website directly for assistance.
  5. Verify Email Senders: Check the sender’s email address for any misspellings or odd characters. Use official message centers to view authentic communications.

What do you do if you suspect a scam?

If you receive suspicious communication (calls, texts, emails), report it through the official channels of the company you suspect it’s impersonating.
