The team also leads the company’s corporate nonprofit foundation that takes 1% of company profit to innovative programs that make a social impact.

Remote jobs

Rates of remote work in the top 10 US cities converge with other top 50 cities

Since the summer of 2022, remote work levels have remained stable in major cities 11 to 50. But in the top 10 cities they have dropped to about 32% of all paid working days. There is still a gap between the two groups, but it is much smaller now and appears to have stabilized around November 2022.

At the same time, remote work continues to become less common in smaller cities and (rural) towns. In early 2022, those smaller urban areas had slightly less working from home than cities 11 to 50, but the gap between these two groups has widened. The remote work rate in small cities is 25%, though, about 5 times the pre-pandemic national average.

The remote work landscape in the United States continues to evolve, as recent trends in this figure show. Even as remote work seemed very stable in the second half of 2022, we keep finding corners of the country and parts the labor market where things don't seem all that stable.

Remote work can raise the number of women in leadership

Stellantis, the parent company of Dodge, Ram, and Chrysler, credits its hybrid policy with a rise in the percentage of women in its top ranks, from 24% in 2021 to 27% a year later, including three female CEOs among its 14 car brands.
  • The automaker company allows eligible employees to work from home 70% of the time.
  • Stellantis has set a goal of 30% of leadership positions occupied by women by 2025.
  • In a report last year from Care.com and Mother Honestly, roughly 80% of both men and women said that remote work has made career advancement more attainable across gender lines.
Also, the remote-work baby boom may be here. New research notes that for higher-income women, remote work is linked to higher fertility rates.
