Student Spotlight: Ashley Graver

When I embarked on my career pivot, landing a job in sales seemed unlikely given my background in education. However, through the Certified Tech Sales (CTSP) course offered by USU Extension and MarketStar, my perception of sales shifted. It taught me that sales is not about being pushy, but rather about problem-solving, building relationships, and becoming a subject matter expert. Understanding my customers' pain points allows me to offer meaningful solutions. I also learned the importance of following proven processes and frameworks. Thanks to the CTSP course, I successfully joined the Asana team at MarketStar and I now feel confident about pursuing a career in tech sales. Many thanks to USU Extension's Remote Online Initiative team for this opportunity!

Partner of the Month: Representative Carl Albrecht (District 70)

Recently, Representative Albrecht was recognized by the National Association of Community Development Extension Professionals (NACDEP) as an ROI program partner. He is not only a champion for rural Utah, but he has also been a champion for the ROI program! Rep. Albrecht has supported legislation and RFAs that have allowed the ROI program to grow and expand across Utah in our mission to empower rural communities through our specialized remote work and e-commerce trainings.

I was happy to receive this recognition from Utah State University Extension for my work with them on the Rural Online Initiative program which trains folks how to work online and find remote jobs. This has been extremely valuable to the rural Utah population in supplementing incomes and working from home. Thanks to Dr. Paul Hill, Trenton Willson, Commissioner Darin Bushman, USU Vice President Ken White, and others for their awesome work!!!

Remote Jobs

New research finds workers are optimistic about AI’s ability to lighten their workloads

Some 70% of employees would willingly delegate as much of their work as possible to AI tools, according to Microsoft’s latest Work Trend Index report. Around three-quarters of respondents said they would use AI for administrative work, while 79% said they would use it for analytical tasks and 73% for creative ones. By comparison, just under half of employees are worried about losing their jobs to AI, according to the report, which analyzed survey responses from 31,000 workers around the world.
