ROI program outreach

Our ROI business consultants exhibited at the Farm Bureau national trade show in Salt Lake City to promote the new E-Commerce Accelerator program (ECA). They engaged with agriculture businesses, farmers and other rural business owners about their online selling experiences, noting both successes and reservations. Through this event, they acquired valuable insights to enhance our understanding of e-commerce operations and aim to support Utah businesses in achieving online success while navigating common e-commerce pitfalls by leveraging this knowledge.

The ROI team was also busy last month doing outreach at the What's Up Down South Economic Summit in Washington County and the Raising Kane Business Summit in Kane county. If you have an event you would like us to set-up a booth for or teach about remote work, please contact paul.hill@usu.edu.

Are you thinking of quitting your job?

  • What are you looking for in your next position?
  • Can I find the job I want in my current organization?
  • Should I tell my boss I am looking for a new job?
  • How can I get references from my current organization if I am keeping my search confidential?
  • What if I land a new job, and my current boss offers me a great counteroffer?
  • How do I actually resign?

Student spotlight: Tawni Blanthorn

I live in a very remote area located in the NW corner of Utah called Grouse Creek. It's an undeveloped small town, consisting of about 77 full-time residents along with about 15 part timers. There are few, if any, opportunities for in-person jobs here. I signed up for the Certified Remote Work Professional course after ROI visited Grouse Creek last summer. I love the small town, quiet country life, and this has given me the chance I need to stay close to my family. I have learned a lot from all involved teaching me. I am so grateful for this class and the opportunity to have met and work with my fellow classmates!

Return-to-office mandates might be a mistake.

4-year study of S&P500: when firms required people to come in, profits failed to climb—while job satisfaction & work-life balance fell.

If you want people onsite, don't treat them like toddlers. Make the trip worth their time.
