Success story: Erin Shepard

SU Extension has been a stellar resource, not only for top notch useful educational certifications that are useful in the real world, but also for connecting rural professionals with remote work. The tech sales course curriculum provided through USU Extension blends seamlessly with MarketStar's internal sales process and pipeline management methods.
  • Even if MarketStar is not your main goal, the tech sales course gives you the personalized training that is lacking in trade education. So, if you're trying to build your professional skills, this is the course for you. This certification boosts your resume and helps attract the attention of online employers.

I talk to CEOs of small and medium sized businesses to large enterprises daily, the culture of MarketStar is made to help you grow and develop, and the staff I work with are great to be around. The camaraderie I've built with my new team is a great launching point to working remotely from Blanding. Most of us have kids at home, so the work life balance is wonderful!

Student of the month: Kristie Barlow

I decided to take the Certified Remote Work Professional Course because I have been interested in getting a remote job for some time. As a mother of 4, I would really like to find a career that is flexible with my busy life. I need a job that I can do at home during weekdays while my children are at school, this way I don't have to leave my children at night or on weekends. I don't want to have to miss out on their lives. This course has been eye-opening. I really had not considered what it would take to have a remote job. I have learned so much great information that will help me in my remote work journey. In the course, I learned about time management, productivity, the different types of remote work, as well as team collaboration in project management. I also learned about so many software programs for managing tasks and communicating asyncronously. In addition, I learned how to create a portfolio and resume. I would recommend this course to anyone. There is a lot of valuable information in this training!
