Holiday job search: An opportunity not to miss!
Contrary to popular belief, the holiday season is a prime time for job hunting! With many people pausing their search, you'll face less competition, giving you an edge in the market.
Companies continue hiring, especially in retail, e-commerce, and food and beverage industries, and sometimes with quicker processes due to year-end hiring goals. It's also an ideal period for networking, as reconnecting with mentors and colleagues over holiday greetings can set you up for fruitful discussions in the new year.
Remember, with the new year comes new budgets and hiring sprees. So, staying active in your job search during the holidays might just land you that dream job with added perks like holiday pay and a chance to bond with new colleagues at festive events. Keep the momentum going and seize the opportunity this holiday season!

Virtual collaboration is less effective than in-person time (and what you can do about it)
Even in hybrid and remote work environments, humans still rely on our social bonds to get work done. So, what blend of remote and in-person collaboration ensures high productivity and creativity, strong social bonds, and a durable organizational culture? Here's some useful advice for leaders of remote employees:
- Commit to hybrid work for remote-ready employees.
- Establish standard on-site office days -- for example, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
- Upskill your managers to hold one meaningful conversation per week with each employee
